J. Eric Wright
Founder & Managing PartnerEric Wright is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Vibranium Capital Group.
Eric has extensive experience as an investor, banker, and entrepreneur in the U.S., Africa, and the Middle East. He previously worked for Citigroup and was one of the founding executives of Citigroup South Africa, serving as the head of private equity responsibility for all investment activities, and sat on the bank’s executive, investment, and credit committees. He also co-founded Africa Venture Partners, primarily investing in the telecommunications infrastructure and services industry.
Eric also co-founded Accelon, a satellite broadband company in West Africa, providing data connectivity and other managed services to B2B enterprise customers in healthcare, financial services, governments, and other industries. He also co-founded TowerShare, a wireless tower company in the Middle East and South Asia, building and leasing wireless towers, and providing maintenance and services to cellular network operators. He is also a co-founder of Gold Coast Securities, an investment bank in Ghana.
He also worked for Security Pacific Merchant Bank in corporate finance and in mergers & acquisitions advising Fortune 500 companies; PwC, providing cross-border M&A advice and due diligence services to acquirers; and Union Bank, financing deals for U.S. middle-market companies. Over the years, Eric has served on a number of private equity investment committees.
Eric holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Economics from the University of Southern California and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He is the Chairman of Africa Tikkun USA Foundation and serves on the board of the Education Development Center in Waltham, Massachusetts.
